Mojave Rising

 China. A land of wonder, excitement, and riches. For young Jedidiah Forbes, China is an awe inspiring place. But, China is only one of many magical places that a young Lieutenant aboard his Father's merchant vessel gets to see and visit.

 Of all the lands Jed gets to see, all the Majesty, all the power, he chooses 18th century Los Angeles to become his home. Why? Why else does a man do anything but for love. Yes, the love of Mara De La Cruz, the daughter of a rich Don, is what ties the heart of the young sailor to the deserts and forests of California.

 Together Mara and Jed discover love.

 Fleeing into the desert to escape the murderous anger of Mara's Father, nothing but their love for each other can guide Jed and Mara through to the other side and to freedom.

 Many years pass away, years of happiness and joy. They have a son, build a home, and go to church. But alas, it is not to last.

 Returning home, Jed stumbles upon a sight of horror. Mara raped and murdered.

 After killing the man responsible, Jed has to return to California and end it all in order to protect his young son.
